Thanks to everyone who came out to see the epic Metropolis last Sunday with organist Peter Krasinski at the Kotzschmar. We had a great turnout and it is always so exciting to see the support for such a unique art form. (What’s not to love about classic cinema paired with a live, improvised soundtrack by a remarkable organist?)
Allan Kozinn reviewed the event for the Portland Press Herald:
“[Metropolis is] so intense and action-filled that, apart from an intermission, a player has scant opportunity to regroup between scenes. But Lang’s vivid imagery is packed with cues that Krasinski turned into recurring elements in an energetic score that drew on many of the Kotzschmar organ’s resources.”
