Bach Birthday Bash in Merrill Auditorium

Bach Birthday Bash 2022 with James Kennerley

Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 7pm

We are delighted to be headed back to Merrill Auditorium for the first Bach Birthday Bash with a live audience since March 2019!

Join James Kennerley, Portland’s Eleventh Municipal Organist, for a performance of music composed by the High Priest of the organ: Johann Sebastian Bach. Born on March 21, 1685, Bach was renowned during his lifetime as a “world-class organist” – more famous for his virtuosic organ playing than for his compositions. Bach’s organ music has captured the minds of performers and audiences for generations ever since. Come to this concert to hear why! Kennerley also plans to play works influenced by Bach. Program details to come at a later time.

Join us!

Please note: this concert will be recorded for later viewing. Camera equipment will be in the Auditorium during this performance.

Tickets are $28-$33, plus applicable PortTIX fees. (Student tickets are $18. Kids 12 & under are free, but do require a ticket.)

Tickets available through PortTIX, the trusted box office for The Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ.
