Halloween Silent Film with James Kennerley

Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 7 p.m.

The evening starts with a family concert from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. We’ll show child-friendly Halloween silent cartoons, Kennerley will perform on the organ and we’ll conclude with a children’s costume parade with prizes.

At 7 p.m., there is an adult costume parade with the winners chosen by special judges. This is followed by the main event, the showing of “Battleship Potemkin.” Kennerley will provide a spirited accompaniment to this terrifying classic silent film. “Battleship Potemkin” is a 1925 Soviet film based on the mutiny of Russian sailors against their tyrannical superiors aboard the battleship during the Revolution of 1905. It was named the greatest film of all time at the Brussels World’s Fair in 1958. In 2012, the British Film Institute named it the eleventh greatest film of all time. Sponsored by Casco Bay Wealth Advisors. Media Sponsor: Maine Public.
